5 Hair Drying Mistakes You’re Probably Making and How to Fix Them

Have you ever noticed how amazing your hair looks when you leave the salon? It is such a shame that you can’t accomplish the same at home. A couple of hair-drying mistakes may be the reason. The type of hair dryer you use and how you use it are probably part of it. Keep reading to learn how to change that. You may be surprised that Amika hair dryers can be the answer to your problems!

Using the Wrong Heat Setting

The biggest mistake you can make when using a hair dryer is setting it to the wrong point. When it’s hot enough to burn, then your hair gets dry, and when it’s set too low and barely warm, it makes your hair dry and frizzy. How can you fix this?

Don’t set your hair dryer to the highest temp. For the most part, use low or medium heat and see what works for your hair. Would you rather have a blow dryer that has heat control settings – allowing you to find the perfect one for you? Amika hair dryers may be what you’re looking for.

Not Using a Heat Protectant

If you’ve not been using it to protect your hair before you use hair tools, then you might want to start now. It shields your hair from too much damage that comes with high heat.

Drying Your Hair When It’s Too Wet

This is a common one. Most of you have made this mistake – if you start using that dryer on soaking wet hair, you’re going to end up with hair that looks frizzy and dry because you’re causing overexposure to too much heat.

So, don’t start using your dryer until your hair is at least 60 to 70 percent dry. Let it air dry or you may blot dry with a towel. Then, hold the dryer downward and let the hot air blow to dry your hair.

Not Sectioning Your Hair

If you are not segmenting your hair, you are more or less blow-drying the wrong way. Without dividing your hair into sections, you may not achieve the fab outcome you desire.

Holding the Dryer Too Close to Your Hair

Putting the hair dryer very close to your hair damages it. As a result, your beautiful hair becomes dry, frizzy, and weak. You should hold it no less than 6 inches away from your hair.

This way, you are not directing too much hot air to dry a portion of your hair for too long. The diffuser in some dryers helps too. If you’re using an Amika hair dryer, it is easier for you to maintain that distance and angle the whole time.

Avoiding these common hair dryer mistakes will make sure your hair looks amazing. Use the correct dryer and method to groom your hair such that it looks like they are styled in a salon.
